Sound Healing
What is Sound Healing? Sound is energy and is transferred through vibration - we are all vibrational beings. The vibrational frequencies of sound stimulate the mind and body into a state of health and wellbeing. It resonates through every part of our body, which includes our nervous system, bones, tissues, glands, vital organs, deep into each of our cells.
When the energy flow in any part of the body is blocked or restricted, the frequency is no longer in a state of harmony, which then leads to health issues. Sound baths help restore harmony by releasing tension and creating relaxation though meditative vibrational frequencies.
Sound Healing is not new, it is thousands of years old dating back to when Pythagoras around 500 BC, started studying the flute as a healing tool. The Indigenous Aboriginal Australians were the first known culture to have used sound to heal some 40,000 years ago with the Digeridoo. The powerful vibration of the Digeridoo was an aid to healing wounds, and broken bones.
During a Sound Bath (or Sound Meditation Journeys as I prefer to call them), I use a variety of instruments, which include gongs, crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, tuning forks, drum, chimes, rain sticks, etc.
